Melbourne launch of Making Progress
Labor legend Jenny Macklin's new book, Making Progress: How Good Policy Happens, will be launched at Carlton's Cinema Nova on May 28.
It's going to be a great event. If you're interested, please click on this link and book a ticket. Entry is free.
The launch, hosted by Readings, will be great. Jenny will be on stage with Emma Dawson -- Executive Director of the Chifley Research Centre -- about why big reform matters and what it takes to make it happen.
Given that the Albanese Government has only just been re-elected for its turn, Making Progress has arrived at the perfect time.
The book -- which has just been published by Melbourne University Publishing -- is unlike any other political tome.
It's book in two halves.
In the first half, Jenny explains how she turned herself into the biggest progressive policy brian of her generation. In the second half, Jenny has a range of fascinating interviews about politics and policy with thinkers like Julia Gillard, Brian Howe, Bill Kelty, Tanya Plibersek, Wayne Swan, Greg Combet and Ross Garnaut.
I learned a hell of a lot helping Jenny write her book.
Hope to see you at the launch.
